1. On Saturday, we went to a waffle breakfast with Santa at the Community Center. We waited in line for waffles. We didn't have to wait long for Santa, but he was obviously a fraud. Sebastian wasn't happy at all. We managed to get a picture with the whole family and Santa, but we were not able to get one of Sebastian on Santa's lap... because he wouldn't sit there (Aunt Diana would be so proud of him for that).
2. On Sunday morning, we had an appointment at the Mall of America for "The Santa Experience." Anything billed like this should be extraordinary, and this was. First of all, we had an appointment with Santa, which meant very little standing in line--very important for a restless toddler. Santa saw us in line, and he came over and said good morning to Sebastian. After Santa disappeared into wherever it is he disappears (up a chimney?), we both heard Sebastian say, "Santa?" This isn't the first time we've heard this, so we're pretty sure we're not making it up! When it was our turn (and we were first!) Santa started with Sebastian on a chair in front of him, looking at a book with lights and music, to kind of warm him up. Then Santa took him out of the chair and stood Sebastian in front of him, and then finally onto his lap. Big smiles from the little one.
When we got home (after a detour to Home Depot), Sebastian was babbling and babbling and babbling, when what to our wondering ears should we hear (Sorry 'bout that) but, "I saw Santa."

What a wonderful sentence from Sebastian. I am sure Santa heard it (even if you were at home).
