Date Night!

For Christmas, my sister Debbie gave me the gift of a romantic date with my husband -- dinner, a movie, and babysitting. We couldn't wait to take her up on it, but she wasn't available for New Year's Eve, so we scheduled her for last Saturday (not knowing at the time that it was going to be SOOOOO cold!)...

Sebastian had a busy day on Saturday and didn't nap the way he does at daycare (currently about three hours straight)... but he did manage to sleep all the way to Debbie's apartment. We left him in what we thought were capable hands. Debbie's roommate even used to work at a daycare, so we knew that first aid and icky diapers were taken care of.

We went to the Cheesecake factory... highly recommended. It's yummy. We went to see Juno... highly recommended. It's funny. Then, we went back to Debbie's apartment. We took the elevator up to her floor, where we found her walking the halls with the boy. Uh-oh. That can't be good. Turns out, he'd only been fussy for the last five minutes or so before we got back. Other than that, he kept them going and going and going...

She said, "There's two of us. There's only one of him. I thought we had a chance."

Yeah. Steve and I used to think that too, but we don't anymore.

(Afterwards, Debbie and Sebastian both put on their PJs... I think they were both exhausted!)
