We went to the Wright County Fair yesterday and Sebastian rode a camel. It was pretty much the highlight of his year.
Other highlights of the fair:
* Pony ride - this would have been the highlight, if not for Gabby the Camel.
* A Petting Zoo with exotic animals. We saw kangaroos, a zebra, monkeys, several different kinds of antelope, llamas, a baby camel, a brahma bull, and a water buffalo.
* Sebastian sang "The Water Buffalo Song" from VeggieTales to the aforementioned water buffalo and kangaroos.
* I was VERY brave and petted the brahma bull.
* Fair food - a corn dog for Sebastian and a cheeseburger from the Burger Hut for me.
* Speaking of the Burger Hut, I got to talk to my 9th grade English teacher (she runs the Burger Hut) and tell her that I am now a 9th grade English teacher. Pretty cool.
*Rides - Ferris Wheel, bumper cars, Tilt-a-Whirl, giant spinning Strawberry, Scrambler-type thing, Giant Slide, Haunted House... Sebastian also rode a roller coaster, a bumble bee thing, and a race car ride without me.
* Carnival games - You know those games that no one ever wins? Yeah, those ones. Well, Sebastian REALLY wanted to play a game. So we went to the "throw the wiffle ball onto the table full of cups and if it lands in a colored cup you win" game. Guess what? Second ball - yellow cup. Large prize. We are now the proud owners of a tacky stuffed frog.
After we left the fair, we stopped and visited with Grandpa and Grandma for a little while, and then headed to Open House at Preschool. There, we had dinner with Sebastian's friends and their parents and Sebastian had ANOTHER pony ride and played in the bounce house.
When we got home, we had a tired, sweaty boy who desperately needed to take a bath, but first? He had to climb his tree.
