When will Sebastian come home?

We get this question a lot. Really. All the time. And as of yet, we don't have an answer. We did find out, today, however that Sebastian will probably not be coming home the third week in March. There is a major banking conference in Guatemala City that week and most of the hotel rooms are booked. The U.S. Embassy has decided not to schedule exit visa interviews during this week, since they know that adoptive parents would have trouble getting to Guatemala City during this time period.

In other news, there was an earthquake in Antigua a few days ago. While we are wishing that we could be enjoying the warm weather of Guatemala right now, we're glad that we weren't in the earthquake. Earthquakes are not unheard of in Guatemala. They are a little bit scary because the volcanoes in the area lie right on the San Andreas fault line... so if there's a big earthquake, there's also the danger of volcanic activity. Not really a good combination.

Hurry home, Sebastian. You'll love winter!

Dressed for warmth - crying because he wants to be with Mommy and Daddy, right?
