Or, more accurately, "why hasn't Joan been updating the blog with Sebastian's latest antics?"
Well, to be honest, I've been busy... between grad school, teaching, and coaching speech... I've been pretty spent most evenings and haven't wanted to spend a ton of time on the computer. But... I am on an eight-week hiatus from grad school (I already have credit for the course that my cohort is taking right now), and speech is almost over... So... I guess you can look for more frequent updates soon!
For now, here's what Sebastian has been up to...
*The discovery of belly-buttons -- one of his favorite books right now is Sandra Boynton's Belly Button Book -- now, he likes to lift shirts to find belly buttons -- we've tried to explain that he can only lift Mommy and Daddy's shirts, and only at home... we'll see how that goes
*Walking up and down the stairs holding the railing instead of crawling... This makes us very nervous, as Sebastian clearly knows no fear...
*Attending his first speech meet -- Sebastian got there in time for the awards ceremony, and when he heard me announcing awards and then saw me onstage, he wanted to come up there too... Steve wouldn't let him, which... in Sebastian's mind, anyway, made him the meanest daddy ever... until the awards ceremony was over and Sebastian got to flirt with all of the girls on my speech team...
*Climbing on everything he can -- and then standing on it... piano bench, foot stool, coffee table, bouncy zebra... anything and everything in the house currently exists for the purpose of giving Sebastian something to stand on...
*Becoming (at times) a "terrible two" -- Yep. It's happening. The Little Man is starting to assert his independence and throw little temper tantrums when he doesn't get exactly what he wants exactly when he wants it. We're a few months early, so maybe we'll be done with this phase early, too...
*Keeping his parents laughing. Sebastian has (when he's not throwing a temper tantrum) the most amazing laugh ever.
New pictures coming soon, I promise!
