An advanced reader?

At preschool today, Sebas made an "M" book. He was very excited about coming home and reading his book to Daddy.

M is for mittens
M is for mouse
M is for monkeys
On my house.

There. That's the entire book. He did a great job "reading" it.

Later this week, I get to go to preschool to read to his class. I asked Sebas what he wanted me to read. He said, "You pick, Mommy."

I suggested several titles. He said, "No."

So I went to the internet book jungle that is Amazon and searched children's books by age to get some new ideas. Here are some of the top choices for four-year-olds:

The Great Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
Gulliver's Travels
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Picture of Dorian Gray
Crime and Punishment
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
The War of the Worlds

Now, I will be the first to acknowledge (or maybe even brag obnoxiously about, although I try to avoid that) the fact that Sebas knows all of his letters and is starting to make sense of words. He's super interested in knowing what letters words start with and what words they rhyme with. But Crime and Punishment? Unless we're talking about hair-pulling and time-outs, I think that may be a bit advanced for the preschool set.

Sheesh I don't think I've read any of those and I'm in college! He must be one smart cookie!
